Ika Peraic is a Crotian-Canadian artist/designer researcher currently pursuing an Interdisciplinary PhD in Humanities at Concordia University in Montreal. She holds an MFA in Sculpture and BDes from the University of Zagreb and an MDes in Industrial design from the University of Alberta. Her research interests revolve around performativity, politics of affect, sensory and process driven aesthetics. She is interested in how an approach that foregrounds sensorial experience and its affective charge can help us understand “things” in new ways. Her research-creational dissertation project explores how conventional exhibition spaces, heritage sites, and museums (understood as such broadly and speculatively) could be critically re/imagined and re/constructed to better account for difficult knowledges and histories that they seek to represent.
